Well a couple of years ago when money was tight, I asked my self the same question. We needed to make some cutbacks, so one area I looked at was how much money was being spent on computer software. There was the yearly anti virus subscription, spyware subscription as well as purchasing software that had lots of unused functions.
I then began to look at what free software was available. I found three pieces of free software that have performed well over a period of three years.

Initially I was a bit skeptical about using a free antivirus, as I had religiously stuck to a yearly subscription package. However three years on and it has dealt with everything the net threw at it. It has saved me from several Trojans, spyware plus the odd piece of malware.
The interface has recently been updated in 2010 and now is far more user friendly. Updates to the virus definitions are done daily, at least once sometimes twice when you connect to the net. When the definitions have been updated, a voice will inform you and a screen notification pops up. Another advantage is the software has a small footprint, so will not use up lots of valuable memory.
Izarc file extractor
When people send you files in email, you need to extract them. This is a great free utility and can extract virtually any file. Before Izarc we had three different extractors for different files. One to extract.zip files, one for.rar files and another for.Ace files. This program now handles all of these and many more.
The setup allows the program to run with your anti virus software, so the files being extracted are scanned, for viruses and spyware. Files are easily compressed for sending to other people. These can be sent as self extracting, and are easily opened with a double click by the recipient.
Mailwasher
When you open your email, you will probably find some spam. This piece of software works with your email program, so that you can check email before you actually receive it. When checking your mail first with Mailwasher, you can choose to delete an email, or bounce an email back to the sender from your server. Bouncing an email back, says to the sender that the address they sent it too is not valid. I found this actually stopped spam, which is a major advantage over some programs, which just catch spam.

I would suggest using Avast, teamed up with Malwarebytes this would insure a very 360* protection. I would also pair these 2 programs up with CCleaner "to keep you're PC healthy and left overs from viruses away". and Defraggler to keep you're PC as if it were new.

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

The best way to install sis on windows is this:
- install Pc Suite or mobile CD
- install bluetooth driver Or Use the mobile Cables
- Configure pc suit to find your mobile (in connection setting)
- Duble click on the File.sis and go to your mobile

Other way is is just click on the file and then select "Send to" then your mobile,If you are using Card reader , put your mobile memory card in it , and Go to MyComputer and click on the new icon (your carD) , after that put your file "File.sis" their and go to your mobile ....

Your phone is a Java Phone which has no effect of .sis and .sisx files, This phone recognises .jar an .jad file [java files] and there is no installer available for this phone. So this phone doesn't have any risk of virus. Basically even if you try to open a file which is infected by mobile virus, it wont open. Java phones are immune to viruses...

Chineese phones Operating System is not yet know. So the know viruses cannot affect it...

This utility is designed to remove "fake" anti-spyware applications that utilize Trojans to issue fake taskbar security alerts, or that change your background in order to scare you into purchasing the full commercial version of their software.
   3. After running the Smitfraudfix, log into the infected computer in "Safe Mode" and run the Roguefix and LSPfix utilities.
   4. After running the Smitfraudfix and Roguefix utilities, reboot the computer back into "Safe Mode" and run the Combofix utility. This utility will scan your computer for known malware, and try to clean the infections automatically.It is very comprehensive and can detect and remove most major spyware programs. This program takes about 30 minutes to run and reboots the computer several times during the process. Go ahead and find something else to do at this point because you will not be able to use your computer for other tasks while Combofix is running.
   5. After the Combofix utility is finished, run Malwarebytes. This works similar to Combofix, but is able to detect and remove many more different spyware programs. It also has a straightforward tabbed interface. Malwarebytes often require a reboot after completion, so make sure you tell it to reboot after it is done removing spyware. Hopefully, you have a computer free of spyware at this point. You might still see parts of Windows broken or out of place, so we will use some healing utilities to bring your computer back to normal.
   6. Run the Fix IE utility and the XPQuickFix utilities, which will fix a lot of background problems that spyware creates once they infect your computer.
   7. I know you probably paid money for your Virus Protection, but your computer has been compromised so ditch it. Search Google using the keywords "Norton Removal Tool", "McAfee Removal Tool, etc," depending on the Anti-virus solution you have installed on your computer. Why remove these? Anti-Virus programs aren't any good once they have been compromised. But these two probably weren't good to begin with. Also you should experience a significant speed boost after switching to a more efficient and stable anti-virus program.
   8. If you are broke, install AVG Free, if you have a few bucks get their comprehensive solution. I would also recommend supplementing your anti-virus program with a real-time spyware scanner, such as Malwarebytes, the paid version.

Keep your computer clean!

   1. Again I recommend buying AVG Internet Security and Malwarebytes to completely protect against spyware, but if you go with the free Malwarebytes you will be fine. I would recommend opening Malwarebytes once a week and doing a scan to ensure the computer is clean.
   2. Avoid pornographic sites, and freebie sites (you know free music, software, games, etc).
   3. If you stumble upon a suspected shady web site that forces you to answer a YES or NO popup, or an OK CANCEL popup that you did not initiate, hold the Alt Key and press F4. This will terminate your browser without answering the question. If you click on an answer, 99% of the time you will give the site permission to download rogue software onto your computer regardless of the answer you choose.
   4. Change browsers at once! Internet Explorer has many problems, and ActiveX is a huge window for computers to become infected with spyware. Switch to Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Google Chrome.

How to Download and Install Avast Anti Virus

We recommend using Avast anti-virus for a few reasons. Not only is it a very powerful tool, but it is very easy to use even for beginner computer users. It is free for home use and requires very little active user maintenance to run. Once you have it setup, you don't need to tinker around with it for over a year. Let's explain how to install the program.

To download Avast, visit avast.com and download the free home edition. You can either download the user installation file or the English installation file. Once it is downloaded, double click the icon to proceed. The introduction screen will appear. Click Next. The second screen has some technical information including the minimum requirements for Avast. If you bought your computer within the last 12 years, you will be fine. Click Next again. Now you will be prompted to agree to the end user license agreement. You can read through this if you would like to, otherwise click "I agree" and move along. You will now be prompted for a destination folder to install the program. It is best to leave the default input as it is. The following screen provides configuration options that you should not tinker with. Finally, the last screen before the actual installation gives a quick summary. Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to schedule a boot time scan. This is one of our favorite features of avast because it allows the program to clean up your computer before windows starts (and the viruses!). Clicking yes will schedule the scan and render your computer inoperable for a couple hours next time you reboot the machine. We recommend clicking NO at this time. The next screen will ask you to reboot your machine. Simply click restart later.

Find your newly installed Avast icon on your desktop and double click it. This will run the actual program. You will be prompted to enter your license key or press demo. Demo will allow you to use the program for 2 months before registering. Registration is free for home use and is a very quick process. Your license key will last 14 months at which point you can just re-register. We recommend getting it out of the way today! Click the program registration link.

Your default web browser will now open and take you to the avast website where you will be asked to register. The whole process involves providing your e-mail address (where the key will be sent), offering your name, your intent to use the program at home, your country, age and computer level. The rest of my items in this list will comprise mostly of Windows programs, only because almost every program for Linux is free to use. It would be impossible to go through them all. Also, lets be honest, just because I say it's a good deal, it won't convince the majority of you to switch. I personally run one Ubuntu computer and one Windows computer. I use my Ubuntu as my everyday computer for word processing, spreadsheets, internet etc.. etc.. The Windows computer I have hooked up to my TV and use mostly as an entertainment computer.

3) Firefox: Internet Explorer may be ok for most people out there, but I find the customization available for Firefox is unmatched. Here is a list of some of the other features available on Firefox -

4) iTunes: I think this one goes without saying. iTunes is by far the easiest way to organize/buy music online. The features keep increasing with each year.

5) JukeFly: JukeFly operates much like iTunes, the only difference is that you make playlists of your favorite music from the web. JukeFly goes and finds the music and video from YouTube then displays it for you. All you have to know is the Song name, artist or album and you can add pretty much anything into your playlist with this great program.

6) OpenOffice.org 3.2: Are you sick of paying a hundred dollars every time you want to upgrade to a new version of Word? Give OpenOffice 3.2 a try! It's free, no ads and you can even save your projects in Word format. It has almost all of the same features you are used to in Word. If you can't deal with the changes... You can always pay to get Word. On the other hand, at the price of FREE, what's the harm in trying it?

7) Skype: Skype is software that enables the world's conversations. Millions of individuals and businesses use Skype to make free video and voice calls, send instant messages and share files with other Skype users. Everyday, people also use Skype to make low-cost calls to landlines and mobiles.

8) Dungeons & Dragons Online: I had to include an MMO. As far as free game-play is concerned, I have to say this is one of the best I've tried. I have played WOW (World of Warcraft) in the past and EverQuest before that... I think I'm a fair judge of a good MMO. Again, for the price of FREE? You can't beat this!

9) WinRAR: Windows compression utility. Use this to zip and unzip files. An essential program for any windows computer!

10) WordPress: Last and certainly not least, WordPress! This is one of my most used and favorite programs. It is, in my opinion, the top blogging program available! Obviously I'm biased since it happens to be what I'm writing this blog on, however, that's why this is MY top ten list and not yours! =)

Usually our first stop is going on CNET to see what free programs we can find. There are a few, Avast is one. It's good for a while but, you need to have a code to activate it. It works for most viruses but, it not the best free one I've seen.

The one free antivirus program that has come out comes from Microsoft themselves. You can go onto their site and download it right to your computer. Its worth it. It's called, Microsoft security essentials. I had heard about the program myself from watching the news on television.

It's important to have a good antivirus program on your computer. The more time we spend on the internet, the more chances we have of getting a virus on our computers. Its very important to make the life of our computers last for years. Being that computers cost so must to replace right now. With windows 7 out there now. It's a good thing to find that antivirus program that will work with the windows we have on our computer.

· Go to the Avast Antivirus homepage--see Resources. Once it is loaded, go to the "Desktop Solutions" tab at the top of the page.

· Step 2

Go to the left on the next page and click on Home Edition. You will then be brought to a page where you can either download the software directly or register. Click on the register tab.

Avira has the best for system resources and detection rates. My next choice would be Avast v5.

SuperAntispyware is your best free choice for that. Malwarebytes is definitely no slouch!

I use the Commodo firewall and have never had any issues. Another great firewall is Tallemu's Online Armor if your OS supports it.

I also prefer Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster, Mvps hosts file, and WinPatrol for HIPs.

The best anti-virus is Kaspersky or Norton but they are not free. Kaspersky does offer a free online scan but it doesn't remove what it finds. Second best free are Avast and AVG and others. The Microsoft firewall that comes free with XP and Vista is quite good but unfortunately provides no visibility. If you need visibility, try the free Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm is very good but it is difficult for me to say it is the best. The best firewalls are not free. You have phishing filters in Firefox 3 and IE 7 and IE 8 (Smart Screen Filter) and AVG. It's strictly a question of how often the phishing filter database gets updated with accurate information. It's tough to say which is best.
